Recognition(1)...

Jok backpedaled without looking back, and swung his body to the right. The left punch flew past where Malix's head was less than a second ago.

"Jok! Stop this madness!" Pepper screamed at him from between him and the crouched figure on the floor.

There was a moment of silence as Jok and Pepper exchanged stares.

...

Jok shrugged.

And bent to the left preparing to leap over the bed.

Pepper followed up well.

Jok spun around and jumped at the wall to the right instead. The feint threw Pepper off the wrong direction and allowed Jok to kick himself straight towards Malix. Malix clenched his fists and readied his left arm.

Jok went past Malix's left before he reacted. The speed Jok managed to kick himself from the wall left Malix rooted to the ground.

Wham! The body slammed against the wall from the blow.

Challenge...

"Yeah, that's about what I know."

Each word sent waves of pain through the left of Malix's head.

"But that can't really prove much."

This time, it's from the right.

"Now, now, don't give me that expression."

Sounds like...

"Well..."
"Oh no, no, no! Please, no!"

It's Pepper!

Malix's eyes opened wide. The light filled his vision, and forced him to close back his eyes. At the same time, he turned slightly and raised his right hand to cover the light. He could sense his back ache, but other than that, the whole body was working fine.

"Jok, close the curtains."
"Huh?"
"Please?"
"Yea..."

Pepper shifted her gaze back to the just-awakened casualty.

"You ok?"
"Pepper?"

Malix forced one eye open. There to the left sat Pepper, unscathed, unfazed. She brought Malix's attention to his own body.

"Yeah, I guess so."

I remember I've hurt my spine and knee.... And I've expended almost all of my energy for the day... Oh and how did she...

"So looks like you both owe me one," Jok cut in.
"That's Jo... Just call him Jok, short form for Joker."
"Tsk, you call that an introduction? Well,"

BANG!

"Let's see whether you are worthy enough to call me that."
